چکیده

Tungsten carbide particles reinforced metal matrix composite (MMC) coatings can significantly improve surface wear resistance owing to their increased hardness. However, the presence of macro- and micro-residual stresses in MMC have detrimental effects, such as reducing service life. In this study, neutron diffraction was used determine residual spherical fused tungsten (sFTC) Cu deposits after laser melt injection. We also developed a thermo-mechanical coupled finite element model predict stresses. Our findings reveal that sFTC/Cu produced with preheating temperature 400°C low stresses, maximum tensile stress 98 MPa on top surface. contrast, sFTC/bronze (CuAl10Ni5Fe4) deposit exhibits very high reaching 651 MPa. These results provide better understanding magnitudes distributions sFTC-reinforced manufactured via

Residual Stresses in Rotating Steel Cylinders with Composite Surface Layers

After undergoing a manufacturing process, materials may exhibit internal stresses referred to as residual stresses. In steel-composite hybrid structures, residual stresses are typically formed due to the unequal thermal behaviour of the steel and composite. Thus, knowledge of the residual stress state is important in the assessment of the external-internal loading in steel-composite hybrid stru...

Prediction of residual stresses in injection moulded parts

For automotive plastic parts, mostly used for interior assemblies, there is a clear demand of an increased accuracy of the simulation model. One crucial input for the simulation model is the correct material data. Based on test data, it is known that the dynamic material properties of a plastic part can differ significantly from the material data given in the data sheet (which is based on a spe...

Study on residual stresses of thin-walled injection molding

The residual stresses of the thin-walled injection molding are investigated in this study. It was realized that the behavior of residual stresses in injection molding parts was affected by different process conditions such as melt temperature, mold temperature, packing pressure and filling time. The layer removal method was used to measure the residual stresses at a thin-walled test sample by a...
